From September 22 to 26, 2025, the DC Department of Aging and Community Living (DACL), AARP DC, Howard University, University of the District of Columbia, The George Washington University, Trinity Washington University, Home Care Partners, and others will host four days of free, public events aimed at raising awareness and decreasing the risk of falls in the senior community.
Each day will be hosted by a different university and feature health screenings for strength, vision, balance, and medication management, along with demonstrations on home safety, fall recovery techniques, and simple exercises that can help lower the risk of falls. The events are open to the public and completely free.
