The Department of Aging and Community Living’s Safe at Home program provides in-home preventative adaptations to reduce the risk of falls for District residents age 60 and older and adults 18 and over living with disabilities.
Examples of adaptations may include but are not limited to handrails, grab bars, bathtub cuts, shower seats, and stair lifts.
Income Qualifications
A maximum of $99,600 for an individual or $113,850 for a household of two.
Who should apply?
District residents, age 60 and over, or adults with disabilities, age 18 and over, who are homeowners or renters of a property used as a primary residence, with an annual household income at or below 100% of Area Median Income (AMI)*.
